Budding Musicians

We have a keyboard in our classroom this year and are beginning to see some budding musicians learning from each other. We are getting to hear some lovely sounds instead of just noise! Check this out!

Robots Will Take Our Jobs in the Future

Autumn wrote a great persuasive text about her views on robots taking our jobs in the future.

Will robots take over our jobs in the future?

I strongly believe that robots will take our jobs in the future.

My first reason is that  everyone knows  that 72% of humans in New Zealand are lazy and do not want to work because they could always have a robot to do it for them for even cheaper. I bet that humans will not have to leave their house in the future if they do not want to, because the robots will do it all for them.  

My second reason is that they will take over because they are already taking all of the risky jobs away and all the boring jobs and I bet that they just want to start small. The bad thing is because once a robot figures out how to create another robot he will go crazy with power. Just like putting milk caps onto the milk, there is even a robot that plays the bass guitar.

My final comment is that there is even a robot who has completed a successful surgery and they are even working on making it do it all by itself. See what I mean people! Stop making robots please! I do not like them!

My conclusion is that I think that robots will take over the world one day but are starting small and getting humans under their spell!

Duck Gets New Feet

We have been learning to summarise. Tequisha did a great job at taking the main ideas from a news article to write this summary.

Vicki Rabe-Harrison found a duck with frostbite. His feet were lying on the ground next to him. A  man called Jason helped make new feet for Philip the duck by using a 3D printer. When Philip started to get better at walking, Vicki decided to take him to a sanctuary.  

Change and Innovation

This term we are thinking and learning about Heroes and how they may have made changes in the world through innovative ideas. 

Make-A-Wish Foundation

This week is no ordinary week. Last month, we sat down with beautiful Hope to understand what a 7 year old girl would wish for more than anything in the world. Hope suffers from a brain tumour but has a very special dream that at the end of this week we are going to turn into a reality. This Saturday, at a lovely venue in Kerikeri, we are granting Hope's one true wish to see mummy and daddy, Lynette and Stephan, get married. Badminton

Today we had our first badminton session with an outside provider. We are having 5 sessions. We learnt that shuttlecocks use the feathers of geese.
